Exchange

Interoperability is made possible thanks to identification norms, the capture of standard data and interface norms. This allows electronic commerce information to flow throughout the supply chain.

Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN): network of catalogues created for GS1 Global, in order to facilitate the exchange of accurate and updated product information, among business partners connected to similar services in different parts of the world. In Colombia this service is provided by LOGYCA / SYNC

Electronic Data Interchange (EDI): allows the automatic interchange of business documents between companies, using a standard format, independently of the kind of platform or software used by each company. The EDI uses message standards, such as purchase orders, invoices, shipment and receipt notifications, among others.

Electronic Product Code Information Services (EPCIS): an EPC or Electronic Product Code provides a unique and serialized identifier for any kind of object. EPCIS is a standard for the interchange of information related to EPC between commercial partners. EPCIS is a standard for the exchange of information related to EPC between commercial partners.

EPCIS provides capabilities to improve the efficiency, safety and visibility of the supply chain. This standard helps to manage data within the company, as well as the secure interchange of information about the movement and status of goods outside the company.

Extensible Markup Language (XML): XML allows the electronic transmission of business documents in a standard format, independently of the kind of platform or applications used by business partners.

The following messages, standardized by GS1 in XML are in place: Parts information, product catalogue, purchase order, shipping notice, invoicing and payment processes.

Measurement Norms: were developed to guide and standardize the measurement taking process for products and packaging. These norms establish the global standards to facilitate the measurement of linear dimensions and weights of retail and wholesale products, from consumption to packaging unit, passing through all intermediary packaging levels. For example, its use allows the improvement of the storage space and its automation.
