Any product or unit that you wish to control must have a single code to identify it.
The following actions are control activities: arrival of products at a warehouse and the respective increase in the client's inventory, registry of products at the check-out point of a supermarket or the revision of sales of a product in a given point of sale.
When a client asks you to identify its products in a standard manner, you must think in the identification of the individual product being registered at the check-out point and the box (unit or packaging). To do this, you must have a code for the individual product, and based on that code, you can set the code of the respective box later.
Any difference among products (flavor, color, content, size, etc.) poses the need to assign a different code.
