To make available to communities of suppliers and customers the exchange of information regarding the behavior of products in the market, specifically customer sales and inventory data, thereby aiding in the development of more efficient and appropriate strategies, as well as cost structures, aimed at satisfying the end consumer
Reports directed at companies that supply the retail chain, offered by the Sales and Inventory Data service, use the information generated at the time of purchase by the end customer at the point of sale, which is stored in the POS system, or retailers’ checkout point.
When the product is registered in the checkout point, as part of the purchase by a customer at the retailer’s point of sale, a report is generated, which feeds the weekly report received by the user of this service. This information is complemented by the inventory report generated by the internal system of the company selling the product.
Reports directed at supplying companies, relating to the operation of their distributors, are generated from the information registered in the ERP or alternate systems used by these companies for the administration of sales and shipping.
Likewise, companies supplying packaging and raw material may have access, through the Sales and Inventory service, to information about consumption and stocks of this kind of product in facilities of their clients. In this case, the reports generated take as their basis the consumption and inventory information registered in the client’s ERP, as and when entries and consumption take place in this kind of inventory.
The exchange of information takes place using standard formats, structured under EDIFACT/EANCOM or XML standards.
Based on the agreement established between clients and suppliers, made available by GS1 Colombia, the Sales and Inventory data service now includes the following:
